Looks like the Steam Winter sale begins today. The prices haven't changed yet, but sometime this afternoon, I expect they will.

Killing Floor 2 is $14.99 again. Anyone interested at that price?

Contagion is $2.49, or $7.49 for a 4-pack.

The latest DLC for Vermintide(Death on the Reik) is not on sale. No surprise there, it just came out last week.

Season 2 of Pinball Arcade is $14.99, or $19.99 for the pro pack.

Planet Coaster is 75% off at $11.24. Looks like a fun single-player building game.

For what it's worth, RowdyRot & I have been playing KF2 and loving it. It's superior to the original, eliminates many of the annoyances, and has better class-building paths combined with flexibility.

Thanks for the first-hand review. If you check the forums, I've been suggesting we take a closer look at this since March when it went on sale for $14.99.

We had paralysis for months and months and didn't try ANYTHING. We've loosened up some now, though. Paladin bought us a 4-pack of Contagion, which has some elements of Killing Floor (some modes allow barricading) and it features slow, Romero-type zombies with little in the way of 'specials'. It took us a couple hours to get the swing of it, but it's turning out to be quite a bit of fun for $3 apiece. There's some elements that encourage working together, and they're FUN instead of annoying.

Lurch loaded up Left 4 Dead 2 AND GOT IT WORKING! I offered to help, but he fixed it on his own. His old machine can run Source games again, and that opens up a WORLD of new possibilities to an older gaming machine. That's a HUGE boon to our gaming possibilities!

Warhammer: Vermintide is a fun Left 4 Dead clone. Less enemy types, but the gfx style is cool, and it's nice to play L4D in a different environment with new maps.

I might have to pick up Killing Floor 2 before the sale is over. Think it's a game even guys like me and Paladin can enjoy? I know guys like Rowdy and Prophet and you can tear up anything . . .

I think you would enjoy it more than the original, but like any game it does require an investment to get through the learning curve. My nephew has played a ton of KF2, and just learned that his support class allows teammates to run up to him and reload 30% of their ammo by clicking the [E] key. It sure would have been nice to know that earlier, before I wasted $$ on ammo instead of better guns. You can also get certain guns where alt-fire heals your friends when you shoot the like in Borderlands.

The easy level isn't as easy as it was in KF1, however it does have a training mode which is almost what the easy level in KF1 actually felt like. And they level you up to 1 the 1st time put a new character through training mode, to give you a lift. Every 5 character levels you get a permanent pair of upgrades, of which you can select only 1 at a time given your preference (reload faster versus double magazine/clip size etc).

I did find the easy level was easy enough that you COULD play it by yourself to level up to catch up to a friend. You don't need to be the same level, it's just REALLY nice to add permanent benefits to make the game a little easier.

There really are a lot of neat games out there on sale right now. Unfortunately Steam Sales only enable one to collect games - it doesn't add more free time to your life to actually play them. It's such a dirty trick.
