"Counter Strike: Global Offensive" is 50% off - it's only $7.49.

I'd like to set up a private server and give this a try sometime. We used to play Counter Strike Source a lot and had some good times. They key is keeping the server private so the pro-wanna-be's don't show up and ruin the fun. If everyone is equally noobish it's not so bad.

Fixed that for you ;)

Remember, there are no more daily sales, no more flash sales. The price you see NOW is the lowest price of the Steam Summer Sale. If they sell too many at that price, I've heard of prices going up. There is no longer a reason to wait during a Steam sale, unless you think someone else will sell it cheaper, or you just want to wait a good while longer for a better price.

The new DOOM is only $35.99. It's normally $59.99 so that's a pretty good discount, nearly half off.

I'd always planned on playing it so I picked it up. If enough of you guys pick it up perhaps we can give the Multi-player a shot. I haven't done the research but we might be able to toss that up on our server.

Space Engineers is 70% off, $7.49. ARK: Survival Evolved is 45% off, $16.49. H1Z1: Just Survive (the version I play) is 35% off, $12.99. Rust is 50% off, $9.99.

Those are ranked in the order I've been playing them lately, though ARK and H1Z1 swap places a lot. Been doing a lot of Space Engineers lately because I've been playing in a game Lupus Noctu has been hosting, he set it up on a spare machine much like Prophet did Insurgency for us.

I have Ark. I'll have to give Space Engineers a look-see.

In news not of interest to Lurch:

Pinball Arcade has seasons One, Two, and Three on sale. I was hoping season Four would be on sale, but that is not the case. I have One and Three. Two doesn't have much of interest to me, while Four has a lot of cool machines.

Pinball FX2 has a shit-ton of tables and packs on sale. I'm not the biggest FX2 fan, but they have some good tables. Some tables are as low as $0.74 each.

Here are some good tables, if you're interested:

Research Doom as a home DM server and let me know. I had it in the cart until I saw the line x amount for DLC. I'm not buying another BF4 type premium content shooter.

It's not a BF4 thing - that's the way games are now and have been for the past several years. Any game that is from popular series is going to have a "Season Pass". Examples: Call of Duty Black Ops 3, Borderlands 2; Fallout 4; Bioshock Infinite; etc. EA just calls it something different (Premium).

It's not a promising trend for us gamers. They withhold content on purpose with the intent of selling it to you later on. You basically have to wait a year or two to get the "Special Edition" that actually contains all content for a reasonable price.

Picked up Doom yet Lexx? It's still on sale. From my understanding MP will contain DM mode, among several others.

Dominate your opponents in DOOM’s signature, fast-paced arena-style combat. In both classic and all-new game modes, annihilate your enemies utilizing your personal blend of skill, powerful weapons, vertical movement, and unique power-ups that allow you to play as a demon.

You can always download and try out the demo first.

If you're concerned about getting sucked into blowing $$ on DLC, I wouldn't worry about it. We'd probably have plenty vanilla MP maps to keep us busy. As far as I know Prophet and I are the only ones who own it right now.

Wow. I got pissed off about the issues I'm having with my Rocksmith build, so I decided to play a game. I bought Wolfenstein: The New Order. LOVE IT. It's single player only, though. It's kind of an interactive movie. Very gritty, a serious alternative-history WWII game. In older games, you'd learn the story by finding books, overhearing guards, enemies smack-talking you as you fought. In this, you actually talk with people a fair bit. Cut scenes, with interesting characters and good story. Though there is a also some really kick-ass action - it's just wrapped around conversations with resistance fighters, civilian families, etc.

$9.99. Kinda wanted it to go down to to $5, but it was taking it's sweet time, so I bit. The gameplay reminds me of old-school shoot-em-ups, but better. Kind of in the vein of DOOM, as much as I've seen of DOOM, anyway. There's another Wolfenstein game out recently: Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. It's supposed to be good as well, though not as good as The New Order. I may pick it up - I'll wait until the last days of the sale, though. Maybe I'll get DOOM instead. Wolfenstein has my juices flowing for old-time gaming. It's a gateway drug for DOOM.

Been up all night playing Wolfenstein, and I have a doctor's appt in the morning. Kind of reminds me of when I got my C-64, and the first night I stayed up all night playing the original Castle Wolfenstein on a school night.

sheesh I have Wolfenstein the old blood in my library untouched! Dukenukem, many others. Gonna wait for Doom to drop more. There is Doom the full collection for $10 which includes remastered II and III. IF your want to do DM III is as good as any, just not the freedom of movement you had in UT. Wehn I DM anything else it feels like I'm running through mud ;(

Doc, do you guys still play The Secret World? I noticed it's on sale too. Also, do you play just the base game, or the DLC too?

Ten-day Free Trial:
https://play.thesecretworld.com/

If you get to DL'ing now, you can jump in for a few hours and try it. I'll join you if you want. The beginning of the game is my favorite area so far - I'll start a new character.

STEAM sale ends at Noon Central on July 4th.

When it asks if you want the MINIMUM or MINIMAL install, say yes. This will DL enough content for the first 5-6 hours of gameplay. That will speed your DL process, and it should be enough for you to give it a good try and see if you're interested.

Pal and I play it sporadically. There's an event going on now and we were gonna try to get in and play it some. Our two friends also play TSW, so there's 4 ppl right there to game with.

Yeah, we have all the content from the $20.39 ultimate edition. There's a lot of content, and you don't have to pay a monthly fee. I hate monthly fees.
