Link to today's REDDIT Summer sale thread. It's pretty comprehensive, with prices, percent off, opinions and rating of the games, etc.

Tank Universal. It's sort of Battlezone/TRON on steroids. Retro fun with modern-day gameplay. For $1.24, I HIGHLY recommend this.

Wings! Remastered. A remastered Cinemaware game from the early 90's. I loved this game at the time, and it was one of the few I actually FINISHED. It's been on my wish list since November when it came out, and now that it's 75% off ($3.74), I snagged it.

Dont' be put off by the gfx at the beginning, those are the old gfx from the early 1990's.

Can't really link to it, but the Unreal games are on sale - just look 'em up in STEAM. Between $2.49 each - $4.99 each, or get 'em all for $9.99. I'm considering getting UT '99 for $2.49, since I miss that sometimes. I had a TON of fun in that game (moreso than even UT2004), and it might be fun to run around in the old maps again.

Ever get to thinking about old games, and your favorite maps, and have a sad because you'll never play 'em again? Some old Half-Life mods (like Day of Defeat), and some old UT mods had some great maps. I can still remember some of them, and my favorite spots on them. There was one or two great WW2 mods for Half-Life that I can't remember the names of. . .wait, I think one was called "Firearms". It had glitchy spots on the maps, but it was a lot of fun. Wish they had finished polishing that game.

Tank Universal is a GREAT distraction from normal gaming. I'm still working my way through it.

I ordered Call of Duty World At World for my Nephew so we could play some Coop. I miss me some good ole WWII carnage!

Still shopping...

The Season Pass for Borderlands The Pre-Sequel is $20.09 right now, that's about $10 of regular price.

I got Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for my nephew. It's only $15. I wouldn't mind playing that again.

I also picked up the Shock Drop Slaughter Pit DLC for Borderlands Pre-Sequel. That was only $2.50.

FYI: the Call of Duty games all dropped further in price:

United Offensive, Modern Warfare 1 & 2, and World At War are all only $9.79.
Black Ops is $19.59.

I picked up the "Rezurrection Content Pack" for myself and my nephew, which is a zombie DLC for Black Ops.

A little advice guys, since I don't really do the Steam sale thing much...thinking of buying this...

http://store.steampowered.com/app/330070/

...do you think it's going to go down in price again, or get it now?

Or, best bet, something better for free?

Flash sales and bundles are usually the best deals. The catch: you never know if/when that will happen. For the most popular games a flash sale seems to be a guarantee. Not sure about software.

I've been burned myself by ordered up a few items that dropped further in price a day later, but overall I still got a really good deal on everything.

Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the tool you're interested in, so I can't help you there. There are reviews in Steam now - I'd recommend reading through those.

Generally speaking, if the deal has a timer on it during their big sales, it's the best price you'll see it at for that sale. It's probably the best price you'll see it at for awhile after as well. If the deal doesn't have a timer, but instead is good until the end of the sale, you should wait until the last day to see if it goes on Daily Deal/Flash Sale.

I memorized that flow chart a long time ago. But this was Call of Duty - COD games are expensive even on sale and hardly EVER go on sale for cheap, no matter how old they are. Plus I wanted to play it in time for Wednesday night. I was caught off guard. Oh well. It was still a great deal.

My nephew was happy as hell with his gifts. He told me he's had less technical issues with the 8 year old compared I gave him than his XBox or Playstation. Some of the COD games I got him won't even work on console anymore - many maps were corrupted by patches that Infinity War never fixed. That's really sad considering what they charge for their games and DLC.
