My brother wants a desktop for his remodeling business. My Dad & I are going to build one for him. My Dad was going to get him a 32’ 720P TV - that’s really not practical for running a business. My brother made clear he isn’t going to game at all, so that saves a lot of $$. So he won’t need a video card or 2K/4K monitor, just a good, solid 1080P monitor for working. Did anyone spot any good deals on one today while shopping around? I’ve been so busy catching up on chores I haven’t had much time to shop.

I know, I was hoping someone had already stumbled upon something exceptional. I was short on time & hoping for a shortcut. I managed to squeeze an hour of online shopping in before heading out to put up Christmas lights. I had to: my Dad was looking at 720P TVs... wrong tool for the job.

I found a good candidate: $100 for the next few days
ASUS VZ249H Frameless 23.8" 5ms (GTG) IPS Widescreen LCD/LED Monitors, HDMI 1920 x 1080 Ultra-Slim Design, w/ Eye Care Feature and Flicker Free Technology, 178/178 Viewing Angle & Built-in Speakers

Since it's not for gaming, there's no reason to drop extra $$ on it for 2k or 4K, especially when he's only going to be using on-board video (no dedicated video card).

Don't buy monitors from Newegg. They have an eight dead pixel return policy. That means, if you end up with a monitor with up to seven dead pixels, you'll just have to live with it.

https://kb.newegg.com/knowledge-base/return-policy/

Television and Monitor Dead Pixels:

Televisions or Monitors with 8 dead pixels or more can be returned for a replacement within 30 days from the purchase date.

Damn sorry I forgot about that lame ass policy. I really hate that. You pay full price for something it should work 100%. If it doesn't you should be able to exchange it with another new one.

Will they at least exchange it for the same model with less than 8 pixies not working?
That is not getting a refund.... Oh wait reading that again it says returned for replacement.. Lame.... Wonder what the return policy is for a refund situation.

Either way it is the principle.

"return for refund" is not mentioned in the tv/monitor section. If you think about it, every company would rather do a return for replacement. It makes/saves more money, and it keeps you from taking your refunded money and spending it with the competition *. If they won't even do a replacement, they won't do a refund.

Maybe... Maybe if you bitch enough they will do a replacement or refund, but it's not their policy and they say so. They're not obligated to help you at all.

*- Sun TV was big on keeping ppl from spending money at they competition. They put a few chains out of business before they folded themselves.
