Saw this, thought this might be your kind of thing, being a car guy:

If you end up with a computer in your garage, this might be the keyboard for it. What they're saying on REDDIT BuiltAPCSales:

This is a very well built 75% keyboard with legitimate Cherry MX Black switches, doubleshot keycaps, and a touchpad. A total steal for only $25 shipped. It is meant to be used in police cruisers (hence the nickname "Cop Car Keyboard" and is very hardy.

A note: There is a protective spill-proof sheet of rubber domes on top of the switches. You need to remove this otherwise the keyfeel will be weird. It's easy to do and only takes a couple of minutes and no tools other than a screwdriver and a keycap puller.

If I had a reason at all. . . sturdy, small-ish with a tracking pad and mechanical keys, designed to repel spills and debris. It's weird and chunky and kind of cool. Might be perfect for workshop/garage use - or a cop car :)

There are more on sale.

Weird how they advice removing the protective cover over the keys, will only take a few minutes, that ships with it otherwise the keys feel funny...

Isn't that the reason it is spill proof?

It's a funky keyboard that, to be blunt, no one would actually like except if they liked funky keyboards for their funkiness. Most ppl don't need a blocky, tough-to-type but nearly impervious cop-car keyboard. To me, that's the appeal :) I think it's cool in it's weirdness, but tbh, it probably has a very unsatisfying user experience, even if it would last forever.

Remove the rubber domes if you want to use it in a house under reasonable conditions, for a better user experience while having a conversation piece. Keep it if you use it in a shop, or in a car where you eat donuts and drink coffee over it for years without maintenance.
