Amazon also has BF sales going on all week.

Seems like Black Friday is now just a week of sales around this holiday these days.
No real special deals just on one day.

I'm looking for 2t to 8t nas drives if you see any deals. I HATE looking through amazon's bf listings, they make no sense to me.

Too big in case of failure however I'd consider size vs price. I just bought a red 4T last night for 119$ Hope that was good seeing as how others were 185$ Still looking for a couple 2-4T's at a great price to put in my new WD Nas box. Having trouble keeping up with storage with shows going from 1gb to 4 or 5gb ;p.

Yes but not mega fuck large size, trying to keep to 3gb each which is tough ;p When I can get a matching set of drives for the WD, I'll be able to set us up with a true cloud storage that uses Drive to handle WDCloud app files. I only have two 1T drives in there now so want to at least double that and make it my plex drive too. It allows several cloud faccts to be added each having an encrypted space each. If I don't see a good deal on 2 or 3T drives I'll just buy another 4T from Amazon next week. the other nas box I have is only smb1 and win10 won't use it because files are not secure ;p

The 4gb drives ( and below) are blues, or old greens. 6tb drives and above are Reds or whites, better drives. So, do you get worse drives because they are smaller and easier to recover from crashes with, or better quality drives that might not crash as much?

I wouldn't get those WD, "My Book" drives. I have wd Black drives that worked for ten years before I retired them. Never had one actually go bad. I don't cheap out on data storage.

Doc they have started making reds many sizes, not just 8T and up. No more WD's books, they are OK blues, I'm looking for 5400rpm so they run cooler, etc. I may just end up putting two 2T seagates I have taken out of the server and put them in the WD cloud nas case. I just can't seem ot keep my active drive in my server clean enough, gets full in a heartbeat. I used to take a year to fill up a new 2T addon ;p Nice/neat thing is I can span two drives (jpod) in this network box. I'm fairly pleased with it just need the right set of drives to put in it. Right now I have two 1T's in it.

Oh come on Lexx, even DLing the larger files it does not fill a 2TB drive in a heartbeat. You see my Plex, I doubt you have more shows downloading then I do.
I Dl a TON of shows and movies. It is a LOT.

I do have issues with them filling but it takes awhile to fill a 2TB drive man, even at the GOOD quality.

I have not heard that they are putting smaller drives in the My Books or Easystores. I would think that I would have.

Look at the r/DataHoarder sub on Reddit if you are putting together a NAS box, may be of help.
